I feel quite disgusted at myself! Here I've had this journal for over a week and have only written in it twice -- and they were both short little things! I've contemplated tearing out my first entries and starting over. ::sigh:: Poor Lizzy, I feel like I am letting her down about this. She has been so much more faithful about writing in hers then me.

Since I last wrote, i have seen Mr. Bingley several times, and I must say, he certainly continues to improve upon aquantance! Charlotte told Lizzy that I should act more interested in Mr. Bingley, and yet, with a sister like Lydia, I don't feel like I can be too reserved. I like him very much, but don't wish to appear a love sick girl.

Miss Bingley, or Caroline as she has asked me to call her, is very kind and gracious. It has been so wonderful to have such a sweet neighbor. I look forward to getting to know her better.

Lizzy surprised me by giving me this lovely journal this morning. Aunt Gardiner gave her a journal several days ago, and I do believe Lizzy will do a very good job keeping up in it; I on the other hand am not yet convinced I will consistantly have something to write, but I suppose time shall tell.

There is not much going on presently; the only interesting tidbit is that Netherfield has been let to a single man of great fortune named Mr. Bingley. Mama is insistant that we meet him. She is positive he would fall for me if he meets me; perhaps he would, but what if I don't care for him? what of his 500 pounds a year?

I should meet him tomorrow at the assembly ball-- hopefully Mama won't be too embarrassing....
